Cupping
Release Stagnation. East Pain. Restore Balance.
Cupping is a traditional technique that uses specially designed cups to create a vacuum on the surface of the skin. It is used to support local circulation and may assist in relieving feelings of tension or discomfort. Cupping is often used alongside acupuncture as part of a personalized treatment approach.
How Cupping Works
Cupping involves placing cups on specific areas of the body to create suction. This technique is thought to draw local blood flow to the surface, which may help reduce muscular tightness and improve the sense of movement or relief. Common areas treated include the back, neck, and shoulders.
When paired with acupuncture, cupping may enhance the relaxing or therapeutic effects of your session. The strength of suction and duration will be tailored to your comfort level and treatment goals.
What To Expect In Your Appointment
Cupping is included as part of your overall treatment plan when clinically appropriate. During your session, you may feel a gentle pulling sensation as the cups are applied. The intensity can be adjusted to your comfort.
After removal, it is normal to see temporary marks on the skin, which range in colour from pink to deep purple. These are not typically painful and usually fade within a few days. The presence and intensity of the marks vary between individuals and treatment areas
